It is a well known fact that there is an increasing focus on transfer pricing by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ("OECD") on a global scale, as well as internally by Revenue Authorities around the world, including South Africa and a number of other African countries. Specifically, the OECD's Base Erosion and Profit Shifting ("BEPS") initiatives has resulted in increasing global co-operation and transparency in the field of transfer pricing through the introduction of a Three Tier System, consisting of a Master File, Local Country File and Country-by-Country Reporting.
